K Bhagyaraj is an Indian film director, actor, writer, and producer who predominantly works in Tamil cinema. He was born on 7 January 1953 in Vellankoil, Tamil Nadu, India. Bhagyaraj started his career in the film industry as an assistant director to Bharathiraja and went on to make his directorial debut with the film "Ezhuthu Pooththa Kadhai" in 1978.
He gained popularity as an actor with the film "Suvarillatha Chiththirangal" (1979), which he also wrote and directed. Some of his popular films as a director and actor include "Chinna Veedu" (1985), "Mundhanai Mudichu" (1983), "Andha 7 Naatkal" (1981), and "Indru Poi Naalai Vaa" (1981), among others.
Bhagyaraj has won several awards for his contribution to Tamil cinema, including the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actor for "Mundhanai Mudichu" and the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Director for "Chinna Veedu". He has also acted in a few Hindi and Telugu films.
